What is CLAIR?
CLAIR is a government-affiliated general incorporated foundation that works to support the internationalisation efforts of local governments in Japan through providing training opportunities, fostering people-to-people exchange with the JET Programme and other initiatives, supporting multiculturalism, and by carrying out research behalf of local governments etc.
Our mission
We aim to offer consistently effective support to our local government stakeholders using the knowhow and extensive international network we have cultivated over the last 35 years.
Our staff
CLAIRs staff is mostly made up of Japanese employees seconded from local governments throughout Japan, and non-Japanese Programme Coordinators. Most Japanese local government staff work for 1 year at CLAIR Tokyo and then spend 2 years at one of our overseas offices. | |
