The Citizens’ International Plaza
The Citizens' International Plaza was established in 1999 to help connect NGOs/NPOs, local governments, and regional international exchange associations and to support their international cooperation and multiculturalism activities.
The Plaza is run jointly by Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR) and the Japan NGO Center for International Cooperation (JANIC).
The Plaza's main activities include the following:
- Collecting and distributing resources regarding international cooperation and multiculturalism promotion
- Providing consultations for developing programs related to international cooperation and multiculturalism promotion
- Helping to connect local governments and NGOs/NPOs through JANIC's network
- Promoting international cooperation and multiculturalism through seminars
- Providing meeting spaces and resources for NGOs/NPOs and other organisations
- Sharing events and news relating to international cooperation and multiculturalism through the Plaza's website, mailing list, and social media channels
